International Friendlies Odds
Odds updated
International friendlies are senior men’s matches between national teams that count toward no tournament. Most are played in FIFA’s international windows, when clubs have to release their players, and they give coaches a look at new call-ups and combinations away from the pressure of qualifying. The Laws of the Game allow more substitutes in these matches than in a competitive fixture, up to eleven if both coaches agree, so a late line-up can look nothing like the one that kicked off.
The format is as old as international football itself. The first official international, recognised by FIFA, was a friendly: Scotland and England drew 0-0 at Hamilton Crescent in Glasgow on 30 November 1872, in front of about 4,000 people.
