International Rugby Odds

International rugby predates any of its modern tournaments. The first Test, Scotland against England in 1871, was arranged directly between the two unions with no league or cup attached, and that habit of scheduling matches bilaterally never went away. National sides still fill gaps in the Six Nations, Rugby Championship, and Nations Championship calendar with one-off tests and short tours, usually in the mid-year and end-of-year international windows.

These fixtures carry full Test status. Players are capped and results count toward the world rankings, but nothing feeds into a table or a trophy. A touring side can play two completely unrelated opponents in the same window and answer to nobody but its own selectors.
