The United Rugby Championship grew out of the Celtic League, first played in 2001 between Irish, Welsh and Scottish sides. Italian clubs joined later, and in 2021 the Bulls, Lions, Sharks and Stormers moved over from Super Rugby, turning a northern-hemisphere league into a two-hemisphere one under its current name. The Stormers won the first title under that name, beating the Bulls in an all-South African final in Cape Town.
Four Irish, four Welsh, four South African, two Scottish and two Italian clubs each play 18 regular-season rounds, 144 matches across the league, running from September to June. The top eight go through to quarter-finals, and the table also decides who qualifies for the European Champions Cup.
OddsBash compares United Rugby Championship odds across every licensed South African betting site, so you can see who's paying best before you bet.
