Premier League Odds: Who's Already Pricing the New Season
Coventry's Premier League return already has odds up, weeks before kickoff. Here's what the early prices say, and who's offering the best value so far.
The Premier League’s 2026-27 season kicks off in 17 days, and South Africa’s bookmakers already have a view on it. Arsenal open the defence of their title at home to Coventry City on Friday 21 August, the newly-promoted side’s first top-flight match since 2001, and the early prices already show how one-sided that reunion looks. 44 of the country’s 47 licensed books have Premier League odds up for the ten opening-weekend fixtures already, this one included.
Odds correct as of 19:47 SAST, Tuesday 4 August. They’ll keep shifting as more of the season gets priced: check the Premier League odds page for live prices across every fixture.
Coventry’s Price for a Return 25 Years in the Making
Coventry won last season’s Championship by an 11-point margin under Frank Lampard, comfortable enough that the gap became a story of its own. None of that has softened how the market rates their first top-flight match in 25 years: Arsenal are as short as 1.20 to win at the Emirates, against 1.13 at the lowest, tight enough that where you bet barely matters. Coventry are priced very differently. Best price 19.00 at NEO.bet, against 13.00 at the lowest, a 46% gap on the same bet, real reason to shop around if you fancy the fairytale. The draw runs 8.00 down to 6.40. All 44 books already pricing the league have this fixture up, more than two weeks before kickoff.
Newcastle and Liverpool Aren’t Waiting for August Either
Not every opening-weekend price is one-sided. Newcastle United host Liverpool at St James’ Park on the Sunday, one of the standout fixtures of the round between two sides both chasing Champions League football, and the market treats it that way: Liverpool 2.15, the draw 4.00 (four books tied, Marshalls World of Sport, NEO.bet, SportyBet, and WorldSportsBetting), Newcastle 3.33. SportyBet currently leads two of the three outcomes outright. Meetings between these two have rarely been cautious in recent seasons. The widest gap between best and worst price on any outcome here is 14.3%, on the draw, against Arsenal’s 46% gap on Coventry alone: real evidence that a genuine contest gets pricing that agrees more than it disagrees.
